Artist Statement by Joanna Pregon

Through my art, I illustrate the connection between nature, dreams and the human spirit.

My paintings are composed with multiple thin layers of oil paint on canvas. With fluid motion, I intertwine the feminine face and form with organic shapes from nature. Using earth tones and sensual lines I create a dreamy depiction of my inner world.

My art reflects the interplay between conscious and subconscious levels of reality. I’m often surprised by the symbolism when some pieces continue to reveal their mysteries long after completion. With subtle brush strokes, my paintings bridge the gap between the physical and ethereal realms.
